While tapioca pearls, also known as boba pearls, are now a globally popular key ingredient in many Asian bubble tea variations,  they can also be found in smaller sizes in foods and drink, such as tapioca pudding, as well.

Tapioca starch is the ingredient of boba pearls for a reason – it gives a great chewy texture when mixed with water. Additionally, it should be mentioned that it is gluten-free.
